Flip-flops, sunscreen, snorkeling, shopping-these are the things thought of when describing a typical college student's spring break. How I spent my spring break, however, was wrapped in layers of clothing in cold, sometimes snowy, weather, helping renovate a home in Appalachia.

Eyeballs keep print media alive

"If newspapers are dying, what's with all the eyeballs?" questioned Peter Baniak, editor of the Lexington Herald-Leader, to a group of college journalism students at the annual Kentucky Intercollegiate Press Association conference on Friday evening. The event, held at Transylvania University, attracted over 100 college students and advisers involved with campus newspapers throughout the state.

Women's History Month

Bellarmine University is honored to have some of the women that are here on staff. One of these women is Matisa Wilbon Ph. D., better known around campus to her students as Dr. Wilbon. Dr. Wilbon first came to Bellarmine in 2006, when she first served as an adjunct Sociology Professor. She is currently a full-time Assistant Professor in the Sociology Department here at Bellarmine, a role she has served in for 3 years.

BU's alcohol policy a double standard

I was somewhat shocked last November to receive an e-mail announcement for a wine tasting hosted by Bellarmine Activities Council (BAC). I was also surprised last week when I received an e-mail regarding a tour of a distillery and a beer tasting in honor of St. Patrick's Day.
